In 1909, Catalonia’s textile industry faces no competition. Hundreds of companies are spread across the region, and one of them, located near Barcelona, is Vapor Rigau, specializing in fabric for military uniforms, which ensures consistent profits year after year. When Spain begins the war with Morocco and reserve men are called to fight, an internal conflict erupts within the company: the owners aim to maximize their profits from the war, while the workers struggle to protect their rights and those of their colleagues sent to a conflict from which many may never return.
